Was at the PSF throughout the weekend to help out at the Raffle Ticket Sales booth with Reiko and to watch her perform a Taiko set. Her group was the last performance before the event finished and one of the pieces, called Shi Shi Mai, involved a group member dancing in a dragon costume in and out of the audience. One little boy who was initially curious let out surprised scream and tore off in the other direction when the dragon popped over to say hello.

Amazingly, I didn't get any of the takoyaki, which (literaly translated) means octopus fry. The water-balloon yoyos, paper net fishing for goldfish, and the takoyaki has been a defining parts of my memories of the festival. However, my memories of the event weren't quite in sync with what is now; reality can't compete with nostalgia. The yoyos seem small, there is no more fishing, and the takoyaki was too vinegary and salty the last time I tried.
