Ran out for a bite to eat with Bao today. It's amusing going to some of these busy Chinese restaurants. The volume starts out reasonable but as we're all so packed in, it's impossible to hear each other above the hubbub so you talk a little louder. In response, so does your neighbour... causing you to talk louder... and resulting in an amusing (and gradual) rise in volume level to the point where it's almost painful and no one can shout anymore and people suddenly stop talking. Quiet. Peace. Till people start talking again, which is almost immediately.
