exhausted

I guess that's how I am right now. It's been a great few days, however. Visited Naomi and Nico this weekend and what to say...? It was one of those really nice refreshing experiences. I will have to go back. sigh

It was also a good first run for my new camera. Oh, I should mention... My Canon Rebel died again, in the middle of a wedding. It would take a picture then would start swearing Error 99. Not much to do except for sending it into the shop. But it takes 4.5 weeks for a fix and I can't really be without a camera for long can I? I resorted to rather extreme measures last time!

So... I'm a proud new owner of a Canon 20d. It was intended to be a graduation present to myself but I guess right now is a pretty good time to pick it up. Thank goodness for financing. Eeep, I shouldn't admit that I suppose.

It works amazingly well. Fast, quick, incredibly easy to handle. I still think the shutter sounds like Xwings sending Tie fighters sprialling off into space (Though I was told the Mamiya RZ67 sounds like the Death Star exploding) but I didn't need to worry about offending an empty suite. Maybe the next time I play in a wedding I'll have to use my old camera during the vows, it's mucho quiet; like kicking R2D2 with slippers... or something. Except for the inevitable squealing and zapping that would follow. The 20d is also a lot less noisy and colour correct, the on-sensor noise reduction and Digic II chip that came with this recent crop of Canons really did incredible things for usability at higher ISOs and shot buffering.

Enough rambling. The following is a shot of the two other shooters that were at the previous wedding. We were trying to figure out how the wedding album would be assembled for the couple or if it even is required. I believe the expression on their faces come from me showing off the 5fps for 26 frames on this new camera. (Aki and his toys, hey?)
