Scary! I'm in Bangkok and whoa culture shock! It is so busy here, so noisy and dirty. Yikes! Thank goodness I had an airport transfer booked from the airport or I would have been lost. They brought me right to the hotel and checked me in, so it was all ok. The porter brought my bag up to my room for me and I had no money, I had to tip him with a $2 Singapore Dollar. Oh well, he seemed grateful anyway. Then I went to exchange my money at a booth on the corner since I had none. I walked out with a big stack and thankfully didn't get mugged on the way back from the hotel. You ever have that feeling that you're going to be mugged the second you step outside? That's kind of how I feel right now...I just keep remembering the stories I've heard. Ho boy...

Well, tomorrow should be better. I have to find my way to STA Travel and pay for my ticket to Shanghai  (yipes!) and then buy some stuff for the upcoming tour. There's a tour meeting tomorrow night at 6pm and it looks like there are about 9 of us on the tour. Tuesday we get the train to Chiang Mai then to visit the hilltribe villages.
