Ha! Let me tell you another joke!
Have you ever seen images of
the Brown Sisters? Nicolas Nixon has been taking a photo of his wife with her three sisters since 1975. Quoted as saying "I'm going to keep taking the photos still they all drop or I do", the images, to me, say a lot about time and their effects on everyone. There is something oddly poignent about not knowing anything about the four women despite seeing so much. I made multiple passes through the images looking for traces about their lives. I wonder if some archeologists end up feeling the same way, knowing full well that these people have full lives outside of what is presented but unable to understand further and wonder at the fate of their own lives and family. Few sets images have meant so much to me and have caused me to sit and think.
Yet another example. This is interesting as it's an entire family aging caught on film.
Maybe I should do something similar every year... get images of all my friends on their birthday and start to compile them over the years?
